This film is such a powerful, compassionate masterpiece on war.
I don’t know how many times I’ve seen it, but it always brings me to tears at the end.
It takes a relatively minor aspect of imperialist war and exposes it rigorously to the end, unfolding into a resonant expression of humanity.
(The Kubrick estate is very strict about using images—though I have used one before which I may take out—so I am using my ticket here…)

Stanley Kubrick Exhibition 19 April 04
Section: kubrick
Categories: Exhibition / museum
Took a first look at this large exhibition on Stanley Kubrick which is running in two museums.
The exhibition includes many of Kubrick’s notebooks used during the shooting of his films, the chess set which was apparently the one pictured in the well-known photo of him playing chess with George C. Scott during the shooting of Dr. Strangelove, and the Eyemo camera he used for some of the footage in Killer’s Kiss.
