The B&W New York neon-lit night shots presage those in Eyes Wide Shut, which was of course in color and not shot in New York.

There is a scene which reveals a barely contained intuitive and intellectual energy, as well as a critical sensibility which, for me, blossomed later in… many ways. Particularly in Paths of Glory and Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.

The film was later released by United Artists as Killer’s Kiss.
