This film had an unusual and affective sensual quality to it, and the way the story handled drug use back in the 60s was a positive departure from the norm.

One interesting coincidence for me: during the day I bought the DVD of All About Eve but in the evening I felt like watching a contemporary movie and ended up renting Home at the End of the World. In one scene in the movie the three main characters are watching All About Eve in a cinema in NYC. I am not sure what the significance was of using that film: they are almost completely opposite in content, one being about emotional honesty and the other about duplicity (All About Eve). Maybe it is because of Bette Davis, who I believe has a special significance in gay culture.
