The story here was not only nothing new, which is not necessarily important, but it was not really looked at in any new way or approached critically, for me; nevertheless, I appreciate David Mamet’s dialogue: except for Tarantino’s films, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to arrange for Mamet to write the dialogue for all Hollywood films. His dialogue is conscious: under his own direction, like in this film, it sometimes tends towards self-conscious, but that’s okay.
I particularly liked Heist and The Edge.
