This movie is not without heart. I like Angelina Jolie.

Well-intended as the movie is, it focusses almost exclusively on the role of smaller, corrupt regional forces in causing famine and suffering: the absence of the primary role of the major “industrialized” countries is palpable. Maybe it is the outlook of the filmmakers, or maybe it is what they had to do to get financing—or maybe those two possibilities are the same.
